August 8: Get Early Access for Winter ’25

Pre-release Developer Edition orgs are a great way to explore new features before they hit your sandboxes. Sign-ups for the Salesforce Winter ’25 pre-release org will start on August 8, 2024. Here is the link to the form.

If you already had a pre-release org for Summer ’24, you can log back into that one.

August 14:  Discover the Salesforce Winter ’25 Release Notes

One of the key dates in the Salesforce release cycle is when the official Release Notes are published. These notes give a preview of new features and improvements coming to the Salesforce ecosystem. The Release Notes will be available on August 14, 2024. Read Salesforce Winter ’25 Release Notes here.

August 29: Prepare for Sandbox Preview

During each release, there are two sandbox groups: one on the non-preview instance (current release) and one on the preview instance (upcoming release). Check the Salesforce Sandbox Preview Guide to find out when and how your sandbox will be upgraded.

If your sandbox isn’t set for the preview update, act before 5 p.m. Pacific Time on August 29 to get early access to Winter ’25 features.

August 30: The Exploration Begins!

It’s time to test the Winter ’25 updates. Monitor your sandbox instance status on Trust to find out when your upgrade window begins. Like the pre-release org, sandbox preview allows you to test new features with your customizations without impacting your live environment.

September-October: Enjoy Winter ‘25 Edition!

The release date for Winter ‘25 will vary based on your Salesforce instance. The main release weekends are:

  • September 6, 2024
  • October 4, 2024
  • October 12, 2024

Check the Maintenance Calendar to see when your Salesforce org will get the Winter ‘25 features. If you’re unsure about your instance, go to Company Information within Setup in your Salesforce account.
