Firstly introduced in Summer ’23 Release, the Sales Planning add-on enables companies to build comprehensive plans by utilizing CRM data effectively. These sales plans can be seamlessly executed within Sales Cloud, providing valuable insights for future data-driven planning from one source. The Sales Planning capabilities also help streamline and expedite planning cycles.

Sales Planning capabilities offer organizations a powerful solution to enhance their sales planning processes: 

  1. Multiple templates with data import from standard Salesforce objects and fields – you can choose Plan with Territory Management, Plan with Role Hierarchy, Plan with Manager Hierarchy, or build your own plan from scratch.
  2. One central interface for stakeholders – the software enables top-down and bottom-up collaboration, allowing executives, managers, and sales representatives to exchange insights and collectively refine the plan.
  3. Intelligent assignment – you will be able to efficiently allocate resources such as quotas, headcount, and budget, ensuring a balanced distribution.
  4. Allocation Engine – by segmenting, filtering, and manipulating Salesforce data, you can align accounts, representatives, records, and territories in a way that reflects the company’s business goals. 

Availability and Price

The Salesforce Sales Planning tool is generally available for purchase at 50 USD/user/month. Also, Salesforce notes that some Sales Cloud editions already include components of Sales Planning.
