Challenge

WeLearn is a long-term customer of ENWAY, with whom the team has already delivered several Salesforce solutions, including financial tracking, an account manager portal, and a project management tool.

As the company continued to grow, WeLearn needed a faster and more efficient way to generate financial reports in XLS format. The goal was to create a simple, user-friendly solution that would allow managers to generate customized financial reports within seconds.

Solution

To deliver a fast and fully customized financial reporting solution, the ENWAY team implemented a one-click XLS report generation process directly within Salesforce.

The solution included the following components:

Development of a Visualforce page containing the report template, calculations, and formulas implemented with Apex code. As a result, generated XLS files preserved all formulas and calculations directly inside the spreadsheet.
Creation of a Lightning Web Component (LWC) with an intuitive interface that allows managers to select the required reporting period before generating the report.
Automation of the report generation workflow to minimize manual actions and ensure consistent report formatting across the organization.

Results

Although Salesforce provides standard reporting tools, the ENWAY solution significantly reduced the time required to prepare financial reports by automating the entire generation process into a single-click action. Managers can now instantly generate accurate XLS financial reports for any selected time period without navigating through the Reports tab.

The implemented solution also improved reporting transparency and flexibility by preserving formulas and calculations directly inside the generated Excel files, allowing teams to easily review, validate, and further customize the reports when needed.
